Livonia has always been more than just my hometown—it’s where my story began and where I continue to build my future. My husband and I are proud to be Livonia Lifers. We met here, married here, and are raising our family in the city we love. Having lived in Livonia since 1990, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing firsthand what makes our community so special—its people, its values, and its unwavering sense of togetherness.

My deep roots in Livonia stretch back to my childhood, when I had my very first job delivering copies of the Livonia Observer in Old Rosedale Gardens with my little red wagon. That early experience instilled in me the value of hard work and community connection—principles that have shaped my life ever since.

I am a proud product of Livonia’s schools, attending Grant Elementary, Emerson Middle School, and Franklin High School before earning my Associate’s degree at Schoolcraft College and later my Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. Although I have a professional degree, I have always been passionate about the skilled trades. As the Design Director for a local architectural millwork company, I work closely with our owners to support workforce development—especially in the trades—because I know firsthand how essential these careers are to the strength of our community.

I also understand the importance of unions, not just in theory, but in practice. My husband is a proud union plumber with Detroit Plumbers Local 98, and we are a pro-union household. The opportunities, security, and quality of life that union membership has provided our family are immeasurable, and I strongly believe in advocating for hardworking tradespeople who keep our cities running.

For over three decades, I have dedicated my time to making a meaningful impact in our community. Since becoming a member of Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church in 1993, I have been an active volunteer, always striving to give back. Whether through community service, fundraising, or simply lending a helping hand to my neighbors, I believe in the power of collective action to strengthen the fabric of our city.

Some of the organizations I’ve supported through volunteering and fundraising include Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Habitat for Humanity, Gleaner’s Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Girl Scouts of Southeast Michigan, Livonia Co-Op Preschool, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the Environmental Defense Fund, among others.

My heart is in Livonia, and I care deeply about our friends, neighbors, and the future of our city. I believe in a community that uplifts one another, that values progress while preserving what makes Livonia so exceptional. Whether for those who have long called Livonia home, or those looking to build their future here, my hope is to be a beacon of positive change—working to ensure that Livonia remains a thriving, welcoming, and supportive place for ALL, at every stage of life.
